15. Wade in the pool and watch “Movies Under the Stars” on the Coral Princess
With the picturesque Alaska mountain coastline as a backdrop, a jump in the pool or jacuzzi is an inviting proposition.
Given the long daylight hours in Alaska during the summer, it might not exactly be movies “under the stars,” but it still works.
16. Watch a musical production show
I’m always game to watch the talented singers and dancers in the Princess cruise production shows. Go an extra little bit before showtime to grab a front row center seat. No TKTS needed!
17. Take a bite of a Baked Alaska in Alaska
What is a Baked Alaska? It’s a dessert comprised of ice cream—in this case, Neapolitan ice cream—and cake, topped with meringue and heated. According to Wikipedia, the origin of its name is debatable, but the “Alaska” seems to refer to the chillier parts of its hot-and-cold composition.
It’s traditionally the featured dessert on the last night of all Princess cruises, and when in Alaska, it seems fitting to have a Baked Alaska.
